Enjoy a more immersive art exhibition. Spend an evening surrounded by stunning artwork in the Trelawney ball room. A rare opportunity to spend an evening with renowned artist Susan Fowler in a stunning location, giving unique insight into her life as an artist in Cornwall. Be inspired! All artwork and gifts featuring her artwork will be for sale on the night.
Susan is a leading UK textile, pressed flora and mixed media artist. Having suffered a head injury after contracting meningitis whilst a practising lawyer, this was the catalyst for her artwork. She presses flora from her garden, windswept seaweed from local beaches and combines them with shells from Cornwall fishermen, fishing net, precious stones and luxurious silks and satins. Her work has appeared in ‘TATLER’, ‘World of Interiors’, ‘London Life Magazines’ and has been exhibited in Cornwall and London. Her work is held in private collections in the UK and worldwide

Price includes 3 course meal (set menu with vegetarian option). £50 per person (reduced to £45 pp when a table for 10 people is purchased). £5 from each ticket and 10% of all sales of Susan’s artwork on the evening will be donated to MNDA in memory of her brother Stephen (www.mndassociation.org). Separate raffle/fundraiser on the day with 100% of sales going to MND.
• Talk by Susan. Question and answer session. Susan will be signing copies of her autobiography ‘Blue Yonder and Beyond’ (for sale on the day).
• Solo art exhibition – exciting new original artwork, prints & giftware for sale on the day. Large statement pieces of original artwork from her London exhibition will be on show. Inspiration table - Separate area showing things and places which inspire Susan and her artwork.
• New original artwork especially for this event, inspired by Tregenna Castle, St Ives and Cornwall for sale on the evening including pressed flora from the grounds of Tregenna Castle itself. Also, two new series of artwork called ‘Freedom’ and ‘Dolce Far Niente – The art of being still’.
• Fundraising for MNDA in memory of Susan’s brother Stephen Arnold (inspirational engineer, athlete, national UK racewalker and coach, mentor to many). Raffle prizes include: Cream tea for two donated by Tregenna Castle, collectable Charlie Bear, an original artwork by Susan Fowler and more.
• Guest speakers (from those who know Susan and who also knew Stephen. Hear from Michael Kent, a national swimming coach based in Cornwall. Also, there will be a talk about the work of MND itself).
• FREE parking onsite. Bar available for purchase of soft and alcoholic beverages.
