The Animal Welfare Champion recognises individuals, groups, or organisations who demonstrate exceptional dedication to the welfare, care, and protection of animals. This award celebrates those who work tirelessly to improve the lives of animals through rescue, rehabilitation, advocacy, education, or ongoing support and care.
Recipients may support domestic pets, wildlife, farm animals, or rescue animals, and their contribution can take many forms. This could include running or supporting rescue organisations, fostering animals in need, promoting responsible ownership, fundraising for animal welfare causes, or educating others about the importance of animal care and protection.
Many nominees dedicate significant amounts of time, energy, and compassion to helping vulnerable or neglected animals, often working quietly behind the scenes without recognition. Their efforts not only improve the lives of animals directly but also help raise awareness and encourage more compassionate attitudes within the wider community.
The award recognises those who consistently go above and beyond to make a positive difference, showing kindness, commitment, and a genuine passion for animal welfare.

While much of the work happens online and behind the scenes, the company itself has always been rooted in people and relationships. Supporting local businesses in the community isn’t just part of what we do, it’s something we genuinely care about.
Animals also play a significant role in our personal lives; between the team, we’ve cared for cats, horses, alpacas, pigs, ferrets, hamsters and even our canine companions Maggie & Colin, who contribute very little to administrative support but remain a valued part of the extended team. That's why we selected the “Animal Welfare Champion” award. We have enormous admiration for the individuals, charities and volunteers who dedicate themselves to caring for vulnerable animals, often without recognition and simply because they care deeply. The compassion, patience and commitment behind that work deserve to be celebrated and we’re incredibly proud to support an award that shines a light on the people making such a meaningful difference across Cornwall.
